What Rumi has to say about Tango

This is a collection of quotes (mostly) by Rumi, a persian mystic and poet of the 13th century.

His words inspire me day after day, and many times they make me think of Tango 🙂

Dance, when you’re broken open. Dance, if you’ve torn the bandage off. Dance in the middle of the fighting. Dance in your blood. Dance when you’re perfectly free.

~Rumi

I closed my mouth and spoke to you in a hundred silent ways.

~ Rumi

I will always lean my heart
as close to your soul as I can.

~ Hafez

Out beyond the ideas of right and wrong there is a field. I will meet you there.

~ Rumi

Heart is sea, Language is shore. Whatever sea includes, will hit the shore.

~ Rumi   ( …….well…Dance is shore as well, I think)

It is pointless trying to know where the way leads. Think only about your first step. The rest will come…

~ Shams Tabrizi

I have come to bring out the beauty in you, and lift you like a prayer to the sky !

~ Rumi

Put your thoughts to sleep,
do not let them cast a shadow
over the moon of your heart.
Let go of thinking.

~ Rumi

There is a voice that doesn’t use words.
Listen.

~ Rumi

The beauty you see in me is a reflection of you.

~ Rumi

Let me sit here, on the threshold of two worlds. Lost in the eloquence of silence.

~ Rumi
